About The Area
Passo Falzarego and Lagazuoi are among the most iconic destinations in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Located between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Alta Badia, this remarkable region is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, panoramic viewpoints and rich historical significance.
Passo Falzarego has long served as one of the most important mountain crossings in the Dolomites. Surrounded by famous peaks such as Lagazuoi, Tofane, Averau and Nuvolau, it provides access to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in northern Italy and some of the most rewarding hiking opportunities in the region.
Above the pass rises Lagazuoi, a mountain famous not only for its extraordinary views but also for its role during the First World War. The area preserves an important network of tunnels, trenches and military positions that tell the story of one of the highest-altitude battlefronts in Europe. Today, visitors can explore these historic sites while enjoying panoramic views that extend across some of the most iconic peaks in the Dolomites.
The experience can also include a visit to the beautiful Laghetto di Limides, one of the hidden gems of the region. Well!! This was my first mountain adventure for both hiking and photography, and I was a bit nervous. However, Fed never made me feel that way during the whole trip. A thorough gentleman and a good human being. He was more of a friend than a tour guide. He was very polite and always answered our questions.
