Every Journey is Different

One of the greatest advantages of a private multi-day tour is the freedom to explore Venice beyond the limitations of a fixed itinerary. Every journey is carefully designed around your interests, preferred pace, the changing atmosphere of the city and the countless opportunities that reveal themselves throughout the day.

Some travellers dream of experiencing the timeless beauty of St. Mark’s Square at sunrise, when the city is still quiet and the soft morning light transforms one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Others are drawn to the vibrant colours of Burano, the centuries-old glassmaking tradition of Murano, or the elegant canals and historic palaces lining the Grand Canal. For many, wandering through the peaceful streets of Cannaregio, discovering the artistic atmosphere of Dorsoduro, or simply getting lost among hidden bridges and quiet courtyards becomes the most memorable part of the journey.

Because every tour is completely private, there is no predefined route to follow. Some itineraries focus on Venice‘s most famous landmarks, exploring St. Mark’s Basilica, the Rialto Bridge, the Accademia Bridge, the Doge’s Palace and the spectacular waterfront overlooking the Venetian Lagoon. Others may lead away from the busiest areas, discovering authentic neighbourhoods, lesser-known churches, local markets, historic artisan workshops and peaceful canals where everyday Venetian life continues much as it has for centuries.

The flexibility of a private journey allows every day to evolve naturally. Instead of following a rigid schedule, we adapt the itinerary to the season, the light, local events and the atmosphere of the city. An early morning may be dedicated to photographing empty streets and quiet canals before Venice awakens, while the afternoon might be the perfect time to explore colourful islands, hidden courtyards or traditional bacari, experiencing the authentic flavours and culture of the city.

Every season reveals a different side of Venice. Spring brings pleasant temperatures, colourful reflections and lively outdoor cafés. Summer offers long evenings, golden sunsets across the lagoon and vibrant local life. Autumn often provides beautiful soft light, fewer visitors and a peaceful atmosphere ideal for exploration and photography. Winter transforms Venice into an entirely different experience, with misty canals, quiet streets and a timeless character that many travellers consider the city’s most enchanting season.

For photographers, Venice offers endless creative opportunities, from world-famous landmarks and elegant architecture to intimate canals, reflections and everyday scenes of local life. At the same time, photography is never a requirement. Many guests simply wish to discover the city’s extraordinary history, experience authentic Venetian culture and enjoy one of the world’s most unique destinations without the pressure of following a fixed programme.

Depending on your interests, the journey may include scenic walks through historic neighbourhoods, visits to Murano and Burano, traditional local restaurants, artisan workshops, hidden canals, lively markets or peaceful corners rarely visited by most travellers. Some guests enjoy exploring as much as possible each day, while others prefer a slower pace, allowing time to appreciate the city’s atmosphere, architecture and unique rhythm.

Rather than following a standard programme, every private journey becomes a collection of carefully chosen experiences, shaped by your interests, the season and the countless details that make Venice unlike any other destination in the world. Whether you’re planning a short city escape or a longer exploration of Venice and its lagoon islands, every itinerary is designed to offer the freedom, flexibility and authenticity that only a private journey can provide.

Private multi-day tours are designed around your preferred travel dates, accommodation availability and the experiences you’d most like to include during your stay in Venice.

While shorter itineraries can sometimes be arranged at relatively short notice, booking several weeks or months in advance is recommended, especially during spring, summer and major holiday periods when Venice is at its busiest.

Planning ahead also provides greater flexibility when selecting accommodation, visiting the most iconic landmarks at quieter times and creating a personalised itinerary that matches your interests.

Venice is best explored on foot, so comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. Clothing should be appropriate for the season, with a light waterproof jacket, sun protection or an extra layer depending on the weather.

Before your journey, you’ll receive personalised recommendations based on the itinerary, the season and the latest forecast, ensuring you can enjoy every day comfortably and without unnecessary luggage.

An easy level of fitness is recommended. Venice is best explored on foot, with comfortable walks through historic streets, canals and hidden corners. Every itinerary is designed around your preferred pace, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the city without rushing.

Walking distances and daily activities are flexible and can be adapted to suit different fitness levels, ensuring a comfortable and rewarding experience for couples, families and solo travellers alike.

Your meeting point will be confirmed after booking based on your accommodation and the selected itinerary. We’ll choose the most convenient location within Venice, making it easy to begin your private journey while avoiding unnecessary transfers.

Venice reveals a different character throughout the year. Depending on the season, weather conditions and local events, the itinerary may be adjusted to provide the most enjoyable experience while avoiding crowded areas whenever possible and making the most of the city’s unique atmosphere.

A couple of years back, I came across an image of Santa Maddalena, Val di Funes. Though at that point I had very little knowledge of photography, the striking contrast in the landscape, form and light of this place completely captivated me. And thus began my relentless research. I don’t drive, and it quickly dawned on me that navigating the Dolomites isn’t easy. As I searched through the work of local photographers from the area who shared my passion, I accidentally stumbled upon my biggest find of the last several years — Federico Antonello. A brilliant photographer, a thorough gentleman, well-spoken, empathetic, and yet gritty at the same time.We developed a great bond during the trip and I have never ceased to admire his intricate knowledge of the terrain and light conditions alike. I’d probably someday…

I warmly recommend Federico Antonello for any photo hike in the Dolomites, thanks to his great knowledge of photography conditions in the area, as well as his friendliness and willingness to help with specific requests. I went to the Dolomites in the summer of 2019 with my family, and a few weeks before the trip I asked Federico if he would be available for a few outings together while my family was doing something else. As soon as I contacted him, he started preparing a tailor-made programme based on my availability, my location during the stay, and the type of photos I wanted to take in the area. He also advised me on the gear to bring along and provided very precise information about the conditions for each hike (driving distance from my place, walking time, difficulty of the hike, etc.). I did two hikes with him, and each time he picked me…

Well!! This was my first mountain adventure for both hiking and photography, and I was a bit nervous. However, Fed never made me feel that way during the whole trip. A thorough gentleman and a good human being. He was more of a friend than a tour guide. He was very polite and always answered our questions. He knows the Dolomites inside out and took us to breathtaking spots at the right time of the day. The accommodations were homely and very cosy. He walked with us throughout the hikes and even went back and forth to help other fellow hikers despite of the ascent and descent. Very knowledgeable about photography and camera controls. I would definitely recommend Federico to all my friends, and he will be my guide for all my future photo trips to the Dolomites, Lofoten, Iceland and many more. Thanks Federico and wish…
